HOW TO JOIN

In addition to our 24 hour livestream, fans will have the opportunity to visit one of our in-game worlds. We have both vanilla and modded servers. All of our servers are using the same world file. Vanilla servers have most of the content but the full Val-Con experience can be found on a modded server.

Vanilla servers:

You will start your Val-Con journey at the Welcome Center. From here you will be able to take portals to the various zones around the world.

• Creator Booths - Come and visit the convention booth of your favourite YouTube and Twitch content creators. If you’re lucky they may also be there for a chat. You may just find your next favourite Valheim creator. QR code links will be displayed on many booths, have your phone ready.
• Build Relay - Fancy taking part in a global build collaboration? Come along and put your own mark on a global community build. See what others have built before you and contribute whatever you feel. Once your time is up, others will get to finish whatever you have started. - Sponsored by the Valheimians!
• Free Build Zone - Don’t fancy the build relay? There will be several areas where you can show us your own distinct style of creation. Just pick a biome.
• Mini Games - We have many games available. Plinko, Karve racing, Whack-a-ward, The Colosseum and more!
• World Wonders - There are many builds throughout the world. Who knows what you will find!

Modded servers:

In addition to everything on our Vanilla servers, the modded servers will show the complete Val-Con experience.

• Valheim Cinema - Have a break in the Valheim cinema located within the Welcome Centre near the bar. Yes, we have a bar, it wouldn’t be a proper convention without one.
• In-game radio - Immerse yourself with special soundtracks as you wander around the world locations.
• Booth video streams - Many content creators will be playing special videos on an in-game TV screen within their booth.

This all sounds amazing, how do I get in?

Because of the limitations with Valheim multiplayer we have limited slots available and want to give everyone an opportunity to visit. In-game visits are on a first come, first served basis and will be time restricted to 2 hours. Once your time is up, you will be removed from the game world to allow others to join. Please respect everyone else while you are online, our moderators don’t want to be too busy - Code of Conduct

We have multiple servers available in different regions - North America (East), North America (West), Europe and Oceania.
Each region will have 1 vanilla and 1 modded server.

OK, you still haven’t told me how to get in!

You will need to grab your entry ticket on Eventbrite. It is completely free, you will just need to enter your details and choose your preferred region.

Once you have booked you will be emailed the server IP and password for entry into the game world. You will also be sent information to join our public Discord. There you can chat with other fans, and get technical support if needed.

Finally! Is there anything else I need to know?

Please do take note that interacting with the world and its wonders could unlock game recipes and progression on your own character.

For those of you wanting the full experience in our modded server, you will need to install our modpack for Valheim:
Val Con Offical Modded Server Pack
Yeah, 'Val-Con' is misspelled. Thunderstore is a little strict.

If you have never used a mod pack, we have that covered too. One of our livestream hosts has a great video guide for it.

This is all great but I’ve never joined a server before.

No worries, everyone has a first time joining a server. Here is a quick guide.

1. Start Valheim
2. Click on ‘Start Game’ and choose your character. Use a vanilla character as your mods may not align with ours. Then click ‘Start’
3. Select the ‘Join Game’ tab and click on ‘Add Server’
4. Enter the details you were sent (Don’t forget the port number after the IP address).
   It should look like this - 192.168.0.244:9768. Then click ‘Add Server’
5. Click ‘Connect’. Enter the password in the window that opens during the load process.
